•  1986 - 1987 – Desk Officer at Europe Department: Federal Republic of Germany- Italy ;

•  1987 – 1990 – Counsellor and Chargé d'Affaires ai. at the Embassy of Algeria in Ottawa ;

•  1990 - 1993 – Deputy - Director of " Prospective and Evaluation " - Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Algeria ;
